Event: Fishfête (UK Fish Swap Event)
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all ticket purchases, attendance, and participation in the Fishfête event (“the Event”), operated by Fishfête (“we,” “our,” “us”).
By purchasing a ticket or attending the Event, you agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not purchase tickets or attend the Event.
Part 1: General Terms for Ticket Purchasers (Attendees)
1.1 Ticket Purchase
- All tickets must be purchased through our official website: https://fishfête.co.uk.
- Tickets are valid only for the date and venue specified.
- Each ticket admits one person unless otherwise stated.
1.2 Entry to the Event
- You must present a valid ticket (digital or printed) for entry.
- Entry may be refused if tickets are found to be invalid, duplicated, or obtained fraudulently.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
1.3 Event Behaviour
- Attendees must conduct themselves respectfully and comply with all venue and event staff instructions.
- Disruptive, unsafe, or abusive behaviour may result in removal from the venue without refund.
- No alcohol, illegal substances, or dangerous items are permitted.
1.4 Health, Safety, and Welfare
- The event is designed for hobbyists and the public to meet, buy, and sell fish and related goods in a safe, legal, and ethical manner.
- Please follow all posted health and safety signs and event staff directions.
1.5 Photography and Media
- Photography and videography may take place during the event for promotional purposes.
- Attendance constitutes consent to appear in such materials unless you notify us in writing prior to the event.
1.6 Liability
- Attendance is at your own risk.
- Fishfête, its organisers, and venue owners are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property, except where caused by our proven negligence.
1.7 Event Changes and Cancellation
- We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to event details (venue, schedule, layout).
- In case of event cancellation, refunds will be issued in accordance with our Returns and Refund Policy.
- We are not liable for any travel or accommodation costs incurred due to event changes or cancellation.
Part 2: Terms for Stallholders / Sellers
These terms apply in addition to the general attendee terms above. By purchasing a stallholder ticket or participating as a seller, you agree to the following:
2.1 Eligibility
- Stallholders must hold a valid stallholder ticket purchased via https://fishfête.co.uk.
- Sellers must be hobbyists, breeders, or businesses legally permitted to sell fish or aquatic livestock in the UK.
2.2 Stall Setup and Equipment
- Stallholders must arrive during the designated setup time and vacate the venue by the specified closing time.
- All stall areas must be kept clean, safe, and tidy at all times.
- No open water containers are permitted, including aquariums, buckets, or any equipment capable of holding water.
- All fish or invertebrates must be securely bagged—no open tanks, tubs, or bowls are allowed on display.
- Each stallholder must bring a towel for use during setup or handling.
- If using electricity, stallholders must provide their own power strip fitted with a circuit breaker or surge protector.
- All electrical equipment must be safe, PAT-tested (if applicable), and suitable for indoor event use.
2.3 Animal Welfare and DEFRA Compliance
All live animals sold or displayed must be handled in full compliance with UK animal welfare laws and DEFRA guidance. Specifically:
- All fish and invertebrates must be bagged in accordance with DEFRA standards:
- If bagged with atmospheric air, each bag must contain approximately 33% water and 66% air.
- If bagged with pure oxygen, each bag must contain approximately 50% water and 50% oxygen.
- Bags must be of suitable quality and sealed securely to prevent leaks.
- Livestock must be healthy, free from visible signs of disease or distress.
- Sellers are responsible for the condition and legality of any species sold.
- The sale of illegal, invasive, or prohibited species is strictly forbidden.
Failure to comply with these welfare requirements will result in immediate removal from the event and possible banning from future events.
2.4 Sales and Payments
- Stallholders are responsible for handling their own sales, pricing, and transactions.
- Fishfête does not facilitate or mediate private sales between attendees and stallholders.
- Stallholders must comply with applicable UK tax and consumer protection laws.
2.5 Liability and Insurance
- Stallholders exhibit and sell goods at their own risk.
- Fishfête and the venue are not liable for loss, damage, theft, or injury arising from your participation, except where caused by our proven negligence.
- Stallholders are encouraged to hold public liability insurance covering their participation in the event.
2.6 Removal and Compliance
- Organisers reserve the right to inspect stalls at any time.
- Any stallholder found in breach of these terms or engaging in unsafe or unethical conduct may be asked to leave the event immediately without refund.
2.7 Waste and Clean-Up
- Stallholders must remove all waste, packaging, and personal items from their area before leaving.
- Any damage to the venue or tables caused by negligence will be chargeable to the stallholder.
2.8 Disputes
Any disputes regarding sales or conduct at the event must be handled directly between the parties involved. Fishfête will not mediate individual disagreements between attendees or sellers.
